Peace by Piece

Making art in the COVID crisis

I rediscovered making art whilst training to be a counsellor.

I am interested in the role that the unconscious plays in making art and how it communicates to others through art.

These artworks have been created during the COVID crisis. The artwork consists of many small pieces of paper that have been put through a paper shredder, much of it my own artwork.

At a time of heightened anxiety, I found making these pieces brought me to the here and now, and with that came peace.

The process is repetitive and meditative. Some collages are completely random like static whilst others combine a mixture of planning and chance.
